If it gets stuck when prompting you to plug in the joystick, leave it open, go into the device manager, find the device with the yellow triangle sign, and set it to use the default USB controller drivers. If you have trouble installing the drivers for the joystick, make sure you are not using a USB 3.0 port. This is a really good guide on removing the software. If it still isn't working, I can only recommend uninstalling the software and drivers, getting rid of the registries related to it, and reinstalling. That's what I had to do the first time, but the default profiler seems to be working now. If you are running windows 10 and the key emulation is not working, downloading the beta software should fix that.

The quickest way to check if it's working is to just open up notepad and started pressing buttons. I've found that the software actually offers some pretty good flexibility with the ability to add advanced macros that allow for different keypresses when pushing, holding, and releasing a button and even letting you change the timing of the key presses.īecause MadCatz software is annoyingly particular about how it is installed, it's really common to have problems with it.

I usually map the MFD buttons to radar and IFCS functions.Īnd of course, it also provides a good starting point for creating your own custom profile if you want to set it up differently since you can just edit it in the profiler software. Since the profiler doesn't allow you to map every button to a key press, like the MFD buttons on the throttle base, those will have to be mapped within the game itself. The emulated key presses should match up with the default keybindings for Star Citizen unless I missed something. To use the profile, just put the linked file in your MadCatz software profile folder and activate it for your joystick. Now, thanks to another user reminding me, I finally got around to updating the keymap images for it so I can share it with everyone! I updated it fairly soon after the release of 2.4 to match the new control scheme but never got around to posting it for others to use. First off, here is the link to the profile, and button map images are in this album.Ī while back I posted the X52 profile I set up for Star Citizen using the MadCatz profiler to emulate key presses and take advantage of the mode switch on the joystick.
